Deadlines for applications for semester exchange are approaching, and below is information especially for those who are planning semester exchange Autumn 2025. If you are planning on exchange at a later time, an information meeting will be scheduled later this spring. However, feel free to read through the information in this email and start already now to plan your exchange.

In March 2021 the Academy elected Markus Degerman and Heidi Marian Haraldsen as the new rector and prorector for a two-year term.

KHiO received the UHR Report from the Survey on Bullying and Harassment in Norwegian Institutions of Higher Education.

The dokument "Språkpolitikk for KHiO" is now translated and available in the English version "Language policy".

To students and staff

Oslo National Academy of the Arts announces an internal call for two four years artistic research each including a three year fellowship positon, approved by rector 17 June 2024.

Aron Tweve and Clara Claussen will represent the students in the board the coming year. Dan Grönlund and Emma Leah Culén Khei will be deputy-representatives.

137 students voted in the election, that is 22,42 % voter turnout. The election opened October 8th and ended October 21st.

Clara Claussen has been re-elected as a student representative while the roles are new for Aron, Dan and Emma.

The election had 56 votes, which gives a voter participation on 9,48 %.
The new Student Council will begin its term this autumn and will serve throughout the 2025/2026 academic year. The new Student Council will take over the baton from the current council (Ånund Engebret Berger (Chair), Dan Grönlund (Deputy Chair), Jonas Oppedal, and Johannes Gudbrandsen-Stavland), who have done a great job as chair for the Student Council this year.

On Thursday, August 24, 2023, there was an official opening of the academic year and an inauguration ceremony with a new rector.

The new academic year is just around the corner, and new and old students are now gathering on-campus. KHiO wants everyone to have a fun, educational and inclusive kick-off to the new academic year.

The results from the election 9th of June are ready.

As a student you are also a part of SiO – The welfare organization for students in Oslo and Akershus, and you can use all their services. We accourage you to familiarize yourself with SiO and use them.

Prorector for education in collaboration with Utdanningsutvalget will this fall continue with Educational forum, a collegial sharing platform at KHiO.

Clara Claussen and Dariusz Stefan Wojdyga will represent the students in the board the coming year (2022/23). Pernille Øien and Aron Tweve will be deputy-representatives.

KHiO students will soon receive invites to department meetings in which it will be discussed how KHiO could best reduce its electricity costs, and in creative ways avoid that this negatively impacts the teaching environment.

On Tuesday, the academy director informed the board that KHiO must introduce extensive measures in order to cover the rising cost of electricity and the resulting imbalance in the institution’s finances. On Friday, 23 September, the entire staff will be invited to a general assembly where they will be briefed about the financial situation.

The study year 2022/23 at KHiO starts Monday August 22.
