You probably have a lot of questions before the start of your studies. That is why we have gathered some useful information for you here. By going through the points below you will get an overview of what you need to do to get started.

The Academy’s learning environment shall be characterised by inclusiveness, zero tolerance for bullying and harassment, and good procedures for whistle-blowing.

Health and welfare

The Oslo National Academy of the Arts seeks above all to prevent injuries from ever happening. In case you nevertheless are subject to injury or accident, the following overview shows how you are insured during your studies at the Academy. Below you can also read about the services offered by SiO (the Student Welfare Organisation of Oslo and Akershus), including access to doctors, psychologists, student housing, nurseries, gyms and various associations.

This guide is for international students coming to study at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts. We hope it will answer many of the questions you may have prior to arrival and provide useful practical information about coming to live and study in Oslo from an international student perspective.


Applying for a Norwegian ID number, and why?

If you are a foreign citizen you should book an appointment with the Service Centre for Foreign Workers in Oslo as soon as possible after your arrival.

You can report your relocation to Norway and at the same time get a Norwegian identification number.
