Applying for a Norwegian ID number, and why?
If you are a foreign citizen you should book an appointment with the Service Centre for Foreign Workers in Oslo as soon as possible after your arrival.
You can report your relocation to Norway and at the same time get a Norwegian identification number.
This allows you to:
- Work in Norway.
- Open a bank account.
- Get a telephone subscription.
- Get access to digital services from public authorities including the National Diploma Registry, your digital diploma from KHiO.
Step One
Book an appointment with the Service Centre for Foreign Workers in Oslo for notifying them of your relocation to Norway.
Step Two
Bring a copy of the letter with your Norwegian ID number to your local student adviser.
