Vitenskapelig sammendrag

Higher artistic education can be considered an important space for artistic experimentation and critical discourse. The Faculdade de Belas-Artes da Universidade de Lisboa (FBAUL) and the Oslo National Academy of Art (KHIO), through its Arts & Crafts department, consider themselves as institutions committed to Artistic Research (AR), in their education, training and development, want to share and think together about AR and future North-South collaborations. Thus, ARcTic South is a joint thought project, seeking to strengthen the connection between academic artistic practices from northern and southern Europe, dismantling the practice of AR, its diffractions and emerging contact zones, as well as the possible (un)doings. the practice of artistic research. Art education is an important space for experimentation and critical discourse. As Art institutions commit to artistic research (AR) as part of education, training and development.  FBAUL and the Art and Craft department at Oslo National Academy of the Art (KHIO) aim to share and think together on AR and futures of collaborative research between North-South.  ARcTic South is thus a thinking together project aiming to get closer North and South academic artistic practices, unpack the practice of AR, diffract and emerge contact zones as well possible (un)doings on making artistic research.
