Agenda: Korpus – workshop stories something between the solid and the hollow
In this Agenda, six artists creating objects, sculptures, jewellery, and installations will offer their perspectives in critically expanding the concept of Korpus, both through their own practices and within contemporary society.
Current dialogue about Korpus is more than discussion about hammers, anvils, and metal: it is about the processes of smithing. In general, these involve shaping and giving forms to different materials through a variety of techniques and processes. Namely, Korpus implies three-dimensionality, space, and volume.
In contemporary crafts fields, where artistic practice is dedicated to the making and shaping of materials, ideas, forms, and expressions; containers, structures, and bodies are but some of the different korporal manifestations presented.
In this Agenda, six artists creating objects, sculptures, jewellery, and installations will offer their perspectives in critically expanding the concept of Korpus, both through their own practices and within contemporary society.

Siri Skjerve
Siri Skjerve (b.1979 in Oslo) has been exploring skin and naturally tanned leather as artistic materials for several years. Skjerve sources her hides primarily from the local hunting teams in Todalen, where she lives and works. Although the craft is as old as humanity, leather as a conceptual material is an underdeveloped language, both historically and in the contemporary art field. Skjerve's art practice aims to show the material as the bearer of a universal human language, with the potential to reflect people from all cultures and at all times.
Siri Skjerve has held several solo exhibitions and participated in a number of juried group exhibitions, and in 2025, she was awarded the 10-year artist grant for established artists by the Norwegian government. Her works are included in the collections of the KUBE museums in Ålesund and the KODE museums in Bergen, purchased by Innkjøpsfondet for norsk kunsthåndverk. Skjerve´s art practice includes residencies at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, ULU of Norway and in Nuuk, Greenland, e.g. Siri Skjerve has been chair of the board of Norwegian Association for Craft Artists and she is currently a PhD candidate at NTNU.

Madelen Isa Lindgren
Madelen Isa Lindgren (b. 1990, Fredrikstad, Norway) works with sculpture. Through material transformation and imitation of natural structures, she develops sculptural strategies for survival and care. Her works often appear as moments of transformation – frozen stages within cyclical time, where forms such as cocoons, shields, and tentacles articulate temporary layers of exile and defense. In these constructions, the materials’ inherent fragility and strength merge into hybrid alliances that both protect and open toward new connections between the body, its surroundings, and the unknown.
Lindgren holds a Bachelor’s degree in Medium- and Material-Based Art from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts (2015–2018), which included a one-year exchange at Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee (2017). She also completed a Practical Pedagogical Education in Art and Design at OsloMet (2019–2020), and earned her Master’s degree in Fine Art from the Faculty of Fine Art, Music and Design in Bergen (2022–2024).
Lindgren's work has been exhibited at both national and international venues, including Norwegian Sculptors Society, K4 Gallery, Podium, Kunsthall Oslo, Bergen Kunsthall, Bomuldsfabriken Kunsthall in Arendal in Norway, CIFF International Copenhagen, Wehrmuehle Museum and Museum Fluxus in Berlin, Kastela Art Centre in Athens and Galleria di Piazza San Marco, Venice.
Pål Vigeland
Pål Vigeland works with objects made of metal. With a background as a goldsmith, his fascination with entirely different metal materials has gained increasing focus. Surfaces bearing traces of previous use, which develop a natural patina, have served as the starting point for many of his works over the past 40 years.
The inspiration for his objects is often drawn from nature—such as shells or seed forms—which are then shaped sculpturally, sometimes resulting in geometric forms. The work is executed with artisanal precision and a keen sense for detail in both design and joining, allowing the objects to achieve a refined formal expression.
The processing of the various metal’s influences both form and expression. In some works, wear in the metal from prior use is clearly visible, and there is an intention to preserve as much of the original patina as possible. The surface of the materials plays a significant role in the expression of the forms.
The exhibition presents objects that span a wide range of materials and techniques, from tin cans to copper and zinc, to cast bronze.
