Avgang 2025: Marte Kristine Brustad Melhus / It is what it is

The performance It is what it is is Marte Kristine Brustad Melhus’s graduation project in master dance at KHiO.

I want to become a ball, but also an animal. I want movement for the sake of movement, and the joy of challenging the body. I want one thing today, and probably something else tomorrow, but I always want to dance. Can we, just for now, let dance be what it is? A moment in time that is soon gone forever.

This project started with an interest in sports, games and competition, and an exploration of sports-like movements and movement qualities. Slowly it has grown into something else, and now, it is this.
