Run for the Student Council (SR) – and help shape student life at KHiO!
Would you like to take part in shaping everyday student life at KHiO? You may now be nominated, or choose to run for election, to the Student Council for the 2026–2027 term. We are looking for committed students who want to represent the student community, raise important issues, and work closely with the school’s leadership.

Why run for election?
- A clear voice in the dialogue between students and KHiO’s leadership
- Real influence on matters affecting student life
- The opportunity to impact projects, processes, and decisions at KHiO
- Access to AkersMek, KHiO’s student house
- A paid position corresponding to 10% employment (Chair: 20%)
- In addition, the role provides valuable experience and insight into organisational work.
How to run
- Complete the nomination form by the deadline 5 May 2026 at 12 pm
- You may nominate yourself or a fellow student
- Remember to confirm with the person being nominated
- Nominations are binding
What does the Student Council do?
The Student Council consists of four elected students representing all KHiO students. The term runs from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027, with responsibilities distributed among the members at the start of the term.

- Regular meetings with KHiO’s leadership
- Student representation in councils and committees
- Work on student initiatives and activities
- Ongoing matters throughout the year

Who can run – and who can vote?
- All students registered for the spring semester 2026 may nominate candidates and vote
- Students completing their studies in spring 2026 are not eligible to run
- SR representatives must be able to speak and write both Norwegian and English
- The candidate with the most votes becomes Chair, and the next three become Council members
Time schedule
- 21 April – 5 May 12 pm: Nomination period
- 5 May – 12 May: Campaigning period
- 12 May – 27 May 12 pm: Election period and campaigning
- 28 May 12 pm: Publication of election results
- 10–11 June, 13.00–15.00: Handover and training sessions with the outgoing Student Council
