Kristoffer Nordal (Master in opera, second year)

I am a highly committed master's student from the opera department. With my experience
as a student representative, I would like to represent the students in discussions with the
administration. I also aim to strengthen the sense of unity between the different departments at the
school.

Hi dear fellow students, I'm running for re-election!

Over the past year, I’ve been part of an amazing group in the student council, and as many of you know, we’ve started to achieve bigger changes in KHiO’s student democracy!! I want to continue this work, we need continuity, and I truly hope you’ll give me your vote!

Tobias Hosøy (Bachelor in medium- and material based art, first year)

I am a person who loves to plan parties and events, and who loves to make things happen. My wish is to have better and more unity between the lines at KHIO. In addition to all of us students who go to KHIO having the opportunity to do more social things together. I strongly believe that this school is one of the best art schools you can find, but at the same time it is far from perfect. It seems that the problems lie in the systems, communication and some teachers. Something that should be fixable!

If you vote me into the student council, I will do everything in my power to improve this. I am not a person who is afraid to speak up, at least not to teachers, administration or the principal. Do you want more social events, teachers who listen to you and respect you as a student? Then you should vote for me!

Ami Mellstrand

Ami Mellstrand (Bachelor in medium- and material based art, second year)

I am running for the student council because I want to make our school a place where all students feel heard. After being a member this past year, I have gained valuable experience and insight, and therefore I want to continue the work and build on what we have started.

If I am elected, I will continue working for better communication between students and staff, improved collaboration between the student council and student committees, and to ensure that our rights as students are not trampled on.

I'm very interested in how we shape artistic education, who gets to have a voice in society, and how we prepare ourselves for life after the academy.

I have a focus on how we best shape a safe and fruitful learning environment with respect between students,
teachers, and admin.

I have experience as a Student Representative at the “Institute Council” for artistic educations at UIT, and experience from how they do things at HDK Valand, and am interested in how we can learn from each other. I would love to get a chance to work for an inclusive, respectful, and artistic learning environment where there's space to be different and where we can develop as artistic and cultural participants in society beyond the safe walls of KHIO.
