Melting Point: Bienniale of contemporary Jewellery
This year students from Metal and Jewellery will take part in the Melting Point Bienniale of contemporary Jewellery in Valencia.
The students from KHiO will be involved in two exhibitions; European Schools and WIP Exhibition/Fabrika 12 where the students will exhibit together with students from Alchimia Contemporary Jewellery School from Florence, Italy.
–The exhibition will have a feeling of work-in-progress to show the schools approach to the process and our activities on both schools, says Jorge Manilla Navarrete, professor of Metal and Jewellery Art and subject area coordinator at KHiO and also professor at Alchimia Contemporary Jewellery School.
–This Biennale is only every second year and it has grown in relevance with every new edition. It is an important international project for the students and for recruting new people to our debartment.
In addition Jorge Manilla has been curating the Chaos Exhibition where some of the students will be involved and he will hold a solo exhibition RECAP and the exhibition Hidden Curriculum a collaboration with a group from Greece.
