 The Remain Of Mother Tongue

The Remain Of Mother Tongue

Soloutstilling av Sheila Mai Del Socorro Salas, 3. års bachelorstudent i medium- og materialbasert kunst med fordypning i tekstil.

What happens between a parent and their child when they cannot fully communicate because of a language barrier?

A mother tongue is the first language a person learns, often shaping how they understand and express themselves. But what happens when an immigrant parent moves to a new country and their child born and raised there? How does growing with different languages and culture affect their relationship, their understanding of each other, and the way they communicate?

Hands in actions opens a space for expression beyond words, where feelings and thoughts can be shared through gestures, movement, and touch.
