Avgang 2026: Aljoša Eraković / On : Horizontal Spooks

Aljoša Eraković (b. 1987, Sarajevo) is an artist based in Oslo, working across sculpture, installation, photography, and text. His practice explores displacements and intersections between historic events, fiction, and fabulation within a saturated culture of media circulation and attention economies. Drawing on architecture and spatial orientation as both material and conceptual frameworks, he engages the tension between linear progression and vertical deviation.

The installation On : Horizontal Spooks (2026) employs speculation as an analytical mode, examining how meaning, value, and risk are distributed and administered through visual culture and media circulation. Here, the speculative functions not only as a critical method but also as a regulatory mechanism, exposing its double role as both distance and complicity within broader structures of circulation and control.
Previous exhibitions include the solo presentations Herois do mar (OSLO PROLOUGE), Olympiades «Oslo», (Paris) and Walking With Dinosaurs (Oslo). Group exhibitions include FAME, (Zurich), Heavy Heaven, (Civita d’Antino, Italy), Oslo City nr. 7 (Oslo), Destiny’s Gratinée (Oslo), he is also actively engaged in gallery practice through Suvatne & Erakovic, operating between Oslo and Basel since 2020.
