Avgang 2026: Camilla Bahnsen / TOON

Not quite awake, yet lucid in a moonlit bedroom. Liquid pools into a black mirror, where her shadow hovers between worlds. The scent of metal and rubber lingers, like the aftermath of an accident.

Fragments of fantasy and distorted memories drift through the darkness; twisted figures, games, and magical artifacts. The harder I try to focus on them, the more they dissolve into the dim twilight. Am I hallucinating? There must be something in the water.

When I close my eyes, the inverted silhouettes are burned onto the insides of my eyelids.

TOON transforms the immersive darkness of a closed space into an absurd and curious sleeping chamber. Situated within a transformative field of tension between grief, play and desire, it presents an inner landscape shaped by the experience of profound loss.

Camilla Bahnsen works across media with a primary focus on sculpture and installation. She holds an MAA from the Art and Architecture Program at the Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen (2017). More recently, she earned a BFA from the Bergen Academy of Art and Design (2024) and is currently completing her MFA at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts.
