Avgang 2023: Rock-a-bye
Ida Cathrin Utvik has throughout her MA studies in choreography at KHiO investigated in sensory performances for children, and this is her final MA project.
Rock-a-bye explores the manifold potential of «Rock» as material, sound and movement. We invite the babies (6-18 months) and their caregivers into a rocky environment with peculiar shapes, crunching sounds, rocking motions and electric guitar tones, all adapted to the little ones who perceive the world with all their senses. Rock´n´roll meets comforting rocking in a landscape of abstracted stones.
The performance is a moving installation, where the children are free to investigate the scenography, sound and light together with their caregivers and the dancers.
