I can resist everything except temptation

Art jewellery and objects exhibition raising the subject of high value of non-precious materials.

Gold makes you blind. You know the bracelet (or ring) by Otto Künzli, right??!! If you have not seen Dying for gold documentary yet - I strongly recommend it. People are crazy. They put value in a different subjects - material, spiritual, philosophical or in unthinkable ideas. For this artificially made up values, people will give up own life, other peoples life, they will destroy a mountain to build up a temple. Congratulations humanity!!! Clever!!!!

For us - students of material- and medium based art - materiality is the main value. But of course it does not mean that we need diamonds, gold and silk to create beauty. A piece of plastic found on the street, broken toy from the garbage can or wrinkled metal sheet spotted in the container - the discarded materials contain for us the uncarved idea of a beautiful object, evoked to reality by our concept and kraft skills.

The topic for our next exhibition in Gallery Skranken is the realm of unconventional non-precious materials we might use for creation of contemporary jewellery or art objects.
