Avgang 2022: If this line finds you snaking

If this line finds you snaking is Patricia Carolina's graduation project in Master Fine Art (MFA).

A trace is the delayed sign of an encounter: memory and premonition. As a curtain that briefly trembles after someone crosses it, some traces linger as they transform; others stay as hollow spaces, cracks beyond repair.
𝙞𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙨𝙣𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 is an installation containing moving images and text. From geography to vitality, the material includes vanishment marks and water textures gathered as moving through multiple locations. A wetland; a nameless village flooded and forgotten; the patches from a bullet-pierced apartment block never repainted; a sinking city.

Patricia Carolina (MX) engages with bodies of clay and water, containers, porosity, and movement. How is the shape of the uncontainable? Can leaks signalize our relation to population flows and ephemerality? Her work deals with these questions through multiple media. From installation to performance, and from poetry to pottery.

Patricia graduated from the Iceland University of Arts in 2019; shortly lived and worked in Tuscany and Berlin. Her work has been shown at Midpunkt, Gallery Flæði, Reykjavik Art Museum, and the Nordic House. Currently, she pursues an MFA in fine arts at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts. If this line finds you snaking is part of her degree examination.
