Lisa Colette Bysheim & Takumi Morozumi are arranging an Open Studio Session #2 to share their collaborative process. They will invite an audience to experience what happens in the studio with a group of performers, a choreographer and a visual artist.

Open Studio Session #2 is a format developed by Lisa Colette Bysheim where the choreographic process is opened up and an audience is invited to experience how she works in the studio. The session is an ongoing development of choreographic methods and approaches to working with live text in improvisation settings. Takumi Morozumi is exploring how to document live-research through photos and will be seen as a part of the work.
The documentation of the choreographic process will result in an artistic photo book which will be published Spring 2021.

BIO:

Takumi Morozumi was born in 1995 in Tokyo, Japan. He received his BFA from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University in 2019. In addition, Takumi studied industrial design at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, China in 2017. He is currently a 2nd year MFA candidate from the Arts and Crafts department in Oslo National Academy of the Arts, Norway.

Living across different cultures, Takumi assimilates the materiality and physicality of clay and photography to propel his inner desire to track a shifting identity. He is currently working in large scale ceramic sculptures that metaphorically connect to cultural and geological paradigm. He is planning to have his first solo exhibition at Galleri Seilduken on October 29-31st.

Lisa Colette Bysheim (1991) is a choreographer and dancer based in Oslo & Bergen, Norway. Her artistic practice spans from creating her own work, performing for others to collaborative creations. To date she’s been involved in several dance projects for film, gallery, stage and site specific works presented nationally and internationally. Her latest solo work Ekko II (2019) was co-produced by BIT Teatergarasjen and Kunstgarasjen in Bergen.

Bysheim is currently exploring the complexity of entangled materials; words, sounds and movements. She is particularly interested in the relationship between spoken words and movement, questioning engrained hierarchies and power dynamics in our social codes. She will be presenting a work in progress of her masters project at Oktoberdans/BIT Teatergarasjen 29. Oct 2020. Bysheim is currently doing a Masters in Choreography at The National Arts Academy Oslo, graduating spring 2021.
