The candidates are ready
From October 16th to 24th you can vote for your favorite student representative in the KHiO board.
The board will discuss and decide many important and interesting things the next year, and you get to decide who you believe will represent the students the best way.
Clara Claussen, 2BFA in Fine Art
Khio is in a economically challenging situation. I would like to continue as a representative in the new board to put the students interests first and work to ensure that financial cuts do not further affect the quality of our education. I want to have contact with Studentrådet (SR) so we can work for the best interests of the students in all departments. And I think it is time for Akers Mek to be opened again so that the students have a meeting place!
Dan Grönlund, 2 BFA in Medium and Material Based Art
I'd like to have your vote for student representative because I think I'm a good listener. I'm keen to bring forward issues and perspectives from us students. I bring with me knowledge and interest in democratic processes from previous studies on a bachelor's program in public administration. Thanks in advance.
Anna Iurinova, 3 BA in Directing
🔥 I'm studying theater direction because I feel let down by our democracy. I am an art student because I have ambitions and hopes for the future of our society. I am seeking your support because I have visions for KHiO and for us, the students. We DO HAVE a voice and we CAN and MUST influence decisions!
🌱 Not least, it’s important that students from KHiO’s performing arts are represented on the board and involved in discussions and decisions!
Embla Moe, 1 BFA in Fine Art
As a representative, I want to be as accessible as possible to get in touch with to ensure that all my fellow students’s perspectives are heard. In addition to advocating for our interests in board meetings, I wish to promote open and clear communication and share insight into the school's path forward with you all. I will also be proactive and ready to challenge, so you don't have to take up the battle yourself.
Linn Svensson, 1 MFA Medium and Material Based Art
During my bachelor’s studies at KHiO I was engaged in many positions pertaining to student politics. Both as leader, representative and observer. I have also studied at the University of Oslo and have an academic master's degree from OsloMet.
I am well versed in democratic processes, I know how KHiOs administration is structured and also know how the different committees and student organs function. I am confident that I have the experience to do this job properly and run for the position so that I can work for all the student’s rights and interests.
Aron Tweve, 2 BA in Contemporary Dance
I'm doing contemporary dance, second year. Been the leader in SU and substitute for student in the board last year. Want to work for a good communication at school and that the students can have a voice in the board. Especially for dance and performing art! To be a link between students and the board.
Have a good election:D
Ida Simone Weidemann, Postgraduate Certification in Education (Dance)
Hello! My name is Ida, and I am a student at the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PPU) in dance here at KHiO. I am a zealous, curious and well-organized person, who feels comfortable taking responsibility when it’s needed. If I am voted in as a student representative in Styret, I will do everything I can to effectively bring information, cases and concerns both ways between Styret and you students <3
Aurelia Marie Nilsen, 2 BA in Interior Architecture and Furniture Design
My name is Aurelia Marie Nilsen and I am in the second year of BAIM, and am currently standing in election for a studenrepresentative for the school. As a representative I believe that everyone should feel like they have a voice that needs to be heard. It’s very important to me that mental health can be talked about freely and be taken into consideration by the school. A good student environment is just as important as performance, and the best thing about studying is to be a part of a community you feel welcome in. I stand for that it should always be more open for students that have something they need to say!
Lukas Kleven, 2 BA in Interior Architecture and Furniture Design
In difficult times, transparency and democracy become even more important, and recently, us students at the Academy of the Arts have experienced just that. When we feel marginalized, our voices must speak louder. I want everyone to be heard and taken seriously, as I believe our role in the school becomes more evident when the support is marginalized.
The election result will be one female and one male representative, with a deputy-representative each. The deadline for voting is October 24th at 23.59.
