Tim Almaas
Swedish/Norwegian Tim Almaas, was educated at the Royal Swedish Ballet School, primarely with Charles Mudry and in Paris with Raymond Franchetti.
He has been a Principal Dancer with English National Ballet, London City Ballet and Peter Schaufuss Ballet, where he also held the position of Ballet Master. His repertoire include most leading roles in the 19th century classical repertoire as well as many neo-classical and contemporary works. He has worked with many of the greatest dancers and choreographers of the 20th century such as Rudolph Nureyev, Natalia Makarova, Roland Petit, Jiri Kylian, Hans Van Manen and Birgit Cullberg.
Tim Almaas has been a ballet teacher for over 20 years and has also choreographed a number of ballets for the Royal Swedish Ballet School and Oslo National Academy of the Arts. He joined the Classical Ballet department at KHiO as Associate professor in 2013, was promoted to Professor in 2016 and is presently holding the position as Head of the Bachelor program in Classical Ballet at the Academy of Dance.
