KHiO not Affected by Security Breach in Canvas

KHiO not Affected by Security Breach in Canvas

Update on the Canvas incident in May:

Earlier in May, a serious security incident was reported involving Instructure, the provider of the Canvas learning platform. The incident affected several educational institutions internationally and was closely followed up in Norway through Sikt.

Initial reports indicated that unauthorised access may have involved certain types of user data, such as names, email addresses, student IDs, and messages within Canvas. We have now received confirmation from the provider that the Oslo National Academy of the Arts was not affected by this incident.

For you, this means:

  • You do not need to take any action
  • Your data and work in Canvas have not been affected
We understand that situations like this may feel concerning, especially when they involve digital tools used in your studies. Thank you for your patience while the situation was clarified. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact service@khio.no
