Ramona Irene Myrseth

Ramona Irene Myrseth, also known as Ramona Salo, is a Research Fellow at the Design Department at Oslo National Academy of the Arts. Her research is located at the intersection of fashion design, costume, Duodji and Indigenous philosophy, viewing clothing and textiles as vessels for cultural and personal memories and identity. In her PhD project, titled Safeguarding or Sharing - Indigenous Voices in Fashion, Ramona investigates the ethical responsibilities and opportunities that emerge as Indigenous designers navigate the global mainstream.
Through her artistic material and landscape-based research rooted in her Sea Sámi heritage, she explores how Indigenous methodology can challenge commercial structures and create more sustainable, holistic practices.

Ramona holds a Bachelor's degree in Criminology from the University of Oslo, a Bachelor's in Art and Design from Oslo and Akershus University College (HiOA), a one-year study in Art History from University of Oslo and a Master's degree in Design, specializing in Fashion Design, from Oslo National Academy of the Arts.
