Aleksandra Anna Janik
Aleksandra Janik is a visual artist, researcher, and curator whose practice investigates the expanded field of print and photomedia, seeking to redefine the medium and articulate its emerging classifications. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wroclaw, Poland (1996), where she later completed her PhD (2004) and led the Studio of Digital and Experimental Printmaking.
Her academic career includes serving as Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Graphics and Media Art (2012–2016) and as Vice-Rector for Arts, Research and International Cooperation (2016–2020) in her home institution. She was also a Visiting Researcher at Tokyo University of the Arts (2021–2022).
She is currently Head of the Printmaking Department at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts (KHiO), Norway.
Her work has been shown widely in Poland and internationally, including at the 56th International Art Exhibition La Biennale di Venezia (2015).
