Recognition of Previous Education (Credit Transfer)
Have you completed studies at another institution or taken courses at KHiO before?
You can apply to have this education recognised as part of your degree at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts (KHiO).
Apply here for Recognition of Previous Education (Credit Transfer)What does recognition of previous education mean?
Recognition means that courses or an entire degree you have completed elsewhere can replace mandatory courses in your study program at KHiO.
If your application is approved (“credited”), you will not need to take exams in those courses. This can shorten your study period.
Important conditions
- In a bachelor’s or master’s degree, you must complete at least 60 ECTS credits at KHiO.
- KHiO normally does not approve parts of a course (partial credit transfer is usually not possible).
- If you are exempt from an entire study year, you may not automatically move up to the next year. This depends on available places in the higher cohort.
- Please note that credit transfer may affect your loan and grant payments from the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund (Lånekassen).
How to apply
Before you apply, make sure:
- You have accepted your study place at KHiO.
- You have activated your user account (information will be sent by email before the semester starts).
- Wait at least 24 hours after activation before logging in to the application form.
- Submit your application via the link above.
Deadlines
- Autumn: 1 September
- Spring: 1 February
