Galleri Seilduken: Feel Me – See Me
This exhibition by Ida Immonen consists of various tactile textiles. She invites the viewers to touch her work, as an important element to awake our memory.
Aesthetics of inclusion is important to Immonen and she doesn´t want her works to rely purely on the visual. The eye sends signals to the brain, but so does our other senses. A hand for example can work as one´s eyes. A hand can make the brain create an image, which activates our imagination in a whole other level than a visual experience created by the co-operation of the eye and the brain. Her viewers are invited to experience the intimacy of Immonen´s textiles by feeling them in contact with their own bodies. She feels tactile textiles are a part of our everyday experience and touch is an element that awakes our muscle memory of the daily encounters with textiles.
Ida Immonen is currently in her final year of Master in Medium- and Material Based Art at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts.
Welcome to see, touch and feel!
