Open Forum invites you to an artist talk with Marea Lazzára Vigesaa of Diaspora Kollektiv. Marea will share the origins of the collective, along with aspects of her work exploring sound as a healing module, featuring live cello.
Biography
Marea Lazzára Vigesaa is an artist, curator, and cultural worker whose interdisciplinary practice spans performance, sound, and public interventions. Her work investigates the intersections of identity, care, and embodiement.
Diaspora Kollektiv is an art collective led by artists and curators Marea Lazzára Vigesaa and Marie Cole. They work to build a future where BIPoCQT creators in Norway can cultivate an archive through creative gatherings rooted in collective care and recognition. Their initiatives include workshops, exhibitions, artist talks, and community artworks centered on queer and diasporic perspectives. These have been presented at ROM for Kunst og Arkitektur, the National Museum, Black Pride Oslo, and National Libraries across Oslo during Black History Month Norway.
