Agenda: Soft Infrastructures: Participation and Public Programmes

Exploring the field of public engagement and educational programming in the arts, including strategies for accessibility, participatory practices, and ways of creating dialogues with different audiences.

MAMBA Master Agenda is a seminar and presentation series organized by the master’s programme in Medium and Material-Based Art (MAMBA) from the Art and Craft Department at Oslo National Academy of the Arts (KHiO) in collaboration with Kunstnernes Hus. The next session will take place on Friday, October 24, 2025, under the title Soft Infrastructures: Participation and Public Programmes, exploring the field of public engagement and educational programming in the arts, including strategies for accessibility, participatory practices, and ways of creating dialogues with different audiences.

We will have presentations by invited practitioners working on engagement and educational programming in diverse contexts. Following this, invited speakers will share projects and experiences connected to MAMBA students’ research themes, reflecting on the insights and collaborations that shape their own artistic and educational practices. Our goal is to encourage interdisciplinary exchange on how contemporary art can engage meaningfully with a range of practices and discourses.
