International opportunities in art jewellery

Norwegian Crafts and the Oslo National Academy of Arts invite you to an international seminar with contributors from the international art jewellery field.

The seminar will provide insights into how galleries, jewellery festivals, publishers and online platforms work to support and develop the art jewellery field, and how jewellery artists can increase their international presence and visibility.

The seminar is being held in connection with the exhibition Nærverk – smykkekunst og bærbare idéer [Nearness – art jewellery and wearable ideas] currently on view at Nitja Centre for Contemporary Art in Lillestrøm (6 September–19 October 2025).

Seminar programme

10:00 – Welcome: Marthe Yung Mee Hansen, project and communication manager at Norwegian Crafts
10:05 – Session 1: Gallery perspectives
 10-minute presentations by A-gallerii (Estonia), Galerie Beyond (Belgium), and Galerie Noel Guyomarc’h (Canada).
 Panel conversation with the gallery representatives, moderated by Marina Elenskaya, co-founder and creative director at Current Obsession (The Netherlands)
11:00 – Session 2: 50 years of art jewellery in Norway
Panel conversation about the curatorial work behind the exhibition Nærverk – smykkekunst og bærbare idéer with the curatorial group consisting of Monica Holmen, curator at Nitja Centre for Contemporary Art; jewellery artist Olaf T. Hodne; and artist Elise Storsveen. The talk will be moderated by Dirk Allgaier, managing director at Arnoldsche Art Publishers (Germany)

12:00 – Session 3: Exhibition and dissemination possibilities
• Marta Costa Reis, curator and artistic director of the Lisbon International Contemporary Jewellery Biennial will present her work with the biennale (30 min).
• Marina Elenskaya will present the work and programme of the platform Current Obsession (40 min).
• Dirk Allgaier will present the publishing work of Arnoldsche Art Publishers (30 min).
