Avgang 2025: Summer Performance
This year, the students in the bachelor’s programme in classical ballet present an exciting selection in their Summer Performance – a compilation of excerpts from Petipa’s Le Corsaire and Bournonville’s ballet Ponte Molle. This weaving together is inspired by the history of ballet and offers insight into how two different styles still share enough common ground to work harmoniously together.
The graduating students have been given a unique opportunity to work with choreography by two of the world’s most acclaimed and respected choreographers: Mats Ek and Jiří Kylián. The students have immersed themselves in parts of their works, and we are invited to witness a glimpse of the artistic process – not a finished performance, a “fly-on-the-wall” perspective of the ongoing work process.
We also have the pleasure of witnessing a world premiere! Two of our graduating students, Saoirse Cameron-Higgs and Joachim Olsen, have collaboratively created a new choreography for the first- and second-year students. This marks the first time students have been commissioned to create a new piece specifically for the summer performance.
