Fernanda Branco: Traces

Traces is a performance series that archives itself in the moment and becomes an ongoing installation, exploring cyclical creations of works and non-conventional documentation.

Fernanda Branco explores the single action of walking backwards. At the same time, the visual artist Hilde Grønner Flikke captures moments of relations between the performer’s body and its surrounding environment through drawings and poetic descriptions on wooden plates.

This exhibition includes a performance by the river and Traces' ongoing archive installation. Continuing to explore a loop of creations, it also features works created from Traces’ archive as scores, a music composition by Håkon Thelin and a dance video by Kristina Gjems and Erik Williams.

Performance
Traces#5 is a cyclical ritual of beginning-end, arrival-departure, openness-enclosure through spiral temporalities by Branco and Flikke.

Installation
is an embodied experience of Traces’ archive for the audience, composed of drawings and poetic descriptions by Hilde Grønner Flikke.

Dance Video
In the mother's arms is a short dance video by Kristina Gjems and Eric Williams. Gjems's choreography was based on fragments from the score of Traces#2.

Music Recording
Traces is a composition of Håkon Thelin from the score of Traces#3. The music lingers on a few distinct moments of Flikke's score and freezes in them.
