The Økern projects

You are warmly welcome to a public event with students from Master Art and Public space at Økern. Minseo Kwon, Marie Cole, Liselli Grunwald, Finlay Hall, Jelsen Lee Innocent, Mimmi Inkeri Koponen and Katja Schia will show works and research focusing on specific sites in and around the former center at Økern in connection to the Production module this semester.

Located at the heart of Hovinbyen, one of Norway's largest city development projects slated to become the new eastern capital of Oslo, Økern is undergoing significant transformation within a five-year plan. The seven artists involved in this project approach this transformation from various angles, shedding light on the memories of a vanishing landscape and the stories of the thousands of people who pass through or reside in the area every day.

This is a one-time event taking place in the area near the Økern subway stop, and offers a glimpse into artistic perspectives on this ongoing metamorphosis. Join us for this event and some gløgg from 16.30 - 18.30.

The course is an initiative by artist Ebba Moi in collaboration with Mari Fredriksen Sundet at Oslo Kommunes kunstsamling, ByLab and Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo.
