Exhibition

Takumi Morozumi: Hen

Takumi Morozumi: Hen

The exhibition is cancelled.

The Japanese word 變/Hen, can be translated in English as strange, funny, odd, etc.

Combining 變/Hen with other words become
変化/Henka—Change
変身/Henshin—Transformation
変人/Henjin—Abnormal human
変節/Hensetsu— Change in the personal philosophy

Being born in Japan and having had the opportunity to live in the UAE, USA, China, and now in Norway, have constructed me to become a vagabond that does not have a specific hometown. This life serves as the backbone of my artistic endeavors and the role that clay play has been crucial to express the phenomenon of 變/Hen.

The exhibition will be consisted from multiple ceramic pieces that are created through my primitive physical actions such as pinching, slabbing, and torching. Through the natural resource of clay, I assimilate the materiality and physicality to systemize my inner desire to locate and understand my identity.
