Tim Almaas

Swedish/Norwegian Tim Almaas joined the Royal Swedish Ballet in 1980 after graduating from its ballet school. He made his debut as Franz in Coppelia and danced leading roles at the Opera House and 1800-century Drottningholm Palace Theatre.

In 1983 he joined Ballett der Deutsche Oper Berlin as soloist and became Principal Dancer with London Festival Ballet/English National Ballet, London City Ballet, Ballet Theatre de Nice and European Ballet with engagements in Japan, USA, Hong Kong, Germany and France. Tim is a founder member (1997) of Peter Schaufuss Ballet (Principal Dancer/Ballet master) and continued as a guest with the company, most recently in 2012. He joined the Oslo National Academy of the Arts as Associate Professor, Classical Ballet in 2013.

Leading roles include: Romeo and Juliet, La Sylphide, Swan Lake, Cinderella, Nutcracker, Coppelia, Sleeping Beauty, Giselle and ballets by Balanchine, Kylian, Tudor, MacMillan, Ashton, Petit, Roriz and many others.

Guest teaching include: The Royal Swedish Ballet, Rambert Dance Company, Peter Schaufuss Ballet, European Ballet and Seresta Dance Company.
