Support to Our Colleagues in Ukraine

“The Russian invasion of Ukraine has now also led to our colleagues there being attacked, bombarded, and exposed to violence, after Kharkiv National University was hit by rockets on Wednesday,” says Rector Markus Degerman.

The Oslo National Academy of the Arts (KHiO) strongly protests against Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and would also like to express its sympathy for colleagues and students in Ukraine who have been affected.

KHiO will follow up the measures that are being implemented by the Norwegian authorities. But KHiO will also endeavour to help and support those students at our academy who come from the countries affected by the invasion.

A decision will be made later on concerning whether KHiO will demonstrate against the invasion on its own initiative, after the rector and the two prorectors have consulted with the academy’s various departments.
