Recognition of previous education
What does recognition of previous education mean?
If you have previously taken higher education within the same academic field as the program you are enrolled in at KHiO, you can apply to get this education recognized as part of your education at KHiO. In practice this means that the subjects you have taken previously substitute the respective subjects at KHiO.
It is not possible to get education from a lower level recognized as part of a degree on a higher level (for example, subjects from high school cannot substitute bachelor's level courses, and bachelor's courses cannot substitute master's level courses).
It is important that you sign yourself up for all obligatory courses when completing the semester registration regardless of whether or not you have applied for recognition of previous education. You can withdraw from these courses at a later point in case your application for recognition of previous education is approved.
Your application will be considered by the dean at your department. Please contact the student consultant at your department should you have any questions.
Recognition of previous education is not a part of the admission process, and can only be applied for after the applicant has received the offer of admission and accepted it. Applicants cannot submit an application for recognition of previous education before they have received active student status at KHiO. KHiO does not accept and process such applications from persons without an active student and admission status at KHiO.
