Election for Student council 2024/2025

The students will elect the Student council, and now you can contribute to the democracy by nominating yourself or other students as candidates. The deadline for nominating candidates is May 7th.

What does it imply to be part of Student Council?

  • Student Council (SR) is six students, and all six are elected. There is one head, one deputy-head and four members.
  • The elected students must fill their role as a represent, and the period is June 3rd to June 30th 2025.
  • SR will represent all KHiO-students and be the connection between the local representatives and the management at KHiO. SR will work together with the board representative.
  • SR will represent all students in different councils and committees.
  • SR will be in charge of AkersMek.
  • The allocation of work tasks will be decided by SR when starting the period.
  • Throughout the year it can be other tasks involving SR.
  • SR have meetings with the management.
  • As an SR-representative you will be hired in a 10% position at KHiO.

Practical information

  • All semester registered students for spring semester 2024 can both nominate and vote in this election.
  • The nomination must be clarified with the nominee.
  • The candidate must be fluent in Norwegian.
  • Students finishing their studies this spring semester can not be nominated.
  • The candidate with most votes will be the head, the candidate with the second most votes will be deputy head and the next four will become council members.
  • The elected candidates must be committed to fill their positions.

Time schedule

  • April 22nd – May 7th: Nominations
  • May 7th – May 26th: Election campaign
  • May 13th – May 27th at noon: Election
  • The nominations and the election will be digital
