Exhibition

In the corner of my eye

In the corner of my eye

In the corner of my eye is a group exhibition with the graduating MA ceramics class of Medium and Material based arts at KHIO 2025.

The five artists are showing explorations that reflect the ongoing experiments and processes of their emerging practices. With clay as the main medium and common language, the diversity and generosity of the material itself, mirrors the broad range of expressions within the group.

Artists

Jenny Hamrell (S)

By creating her own visual vocabulary, Hamrell is advocating for a better understanding of cognitive diversity. Through the bodily forms taking shape in her work, she is expressing abstract thought through clay.

Quin Scholten (NL)

Rejecting to see things, including his own works as static objects, but rather as dynamic and curious beings. Scholten questions the relationship between those beings and us humans. Having previously studied product design he is critical about mass production and mass consumption culture.

Sara Zamecznik (N)

With a material that can feel like stone, Zamecznik wants to invoke the feeling of movement. Her sculptures are all meant to be touched, and she encourages an audience to question how we perceive information via our eyes.

Iliana Papadimitriou (GR/UK)

By combining an academic background in philosophy with material sense exploration in ceramics, Papadimitriou is particularly interested in inciting curiosity around olfaction, tactility and texture.

Jasmin Franko (DK)

Drawing on inspiration from the field of science fiction and afrofuturism, Franko explores the intersections between bio-technology, craftsmanship, magical thinking and mutations. In this show, she focuses on device-making
