Avgang 2024: Adin Music / Muscle Memory (2016-2024)
Muscle Memory is a project based of a 55-minute video loop showcasing 4886 X-ray images displayed onto a broken screen. The visuals are recorded using a digital/4K camera and projected onto a diffusion filter. By doing this the broken screen is gifted an unlimited lifespan as a digital file.

In the book Illness as Metaphor Susan Sontag writes “Illness is life's night side, a more burdensome citizenship. Anyone who is born is a citizen of two realms, the realm of the well and the realm of the sick. Although we all prefer to use only the good passport, each of us, sooner or later, at least for a time, is obliged to identify ourselves as citizens of this other place.”
Muscle Memory is an exhibition that explores the convergence of digitalisation, light, and body, while exploring deeper questions about our human existence in the digital age. Through video installation, sculpture and light, the exhibition aims to convey how modern technology, especially screens, has transformed our way of understanding and experiencing the world.
Adin Music (b.1995) works ranges across various media, including video, sculpture and installations. His works constitute a conceptual and critical view on modern technology, researching subjects such as digitalisation, information, and light. Music holds a bachelor's degree from Fine Arts at Oslo National Academy of the Arts and is currently on his last year of the master degree.
MFA Graduation Projects
The final year Master students will present individual graduation projects in different spaces at KHIO and around Oslo. These newly developed projects will be diverse in form and will take place at different times during the spring semester. Some of the projects will open simultaneously. The graduating students will also collectively explore the group format in a curated group exhibition at Kunstnernes Hus in May. For several decades, the Academy was located at the back of the house, and in 2012, Kunstnernes Hus resumed its close relationship with the academy by showing the annual graduation exhibition in the Master of Fine Art.
