Program:

Friday 25th of October 19:00-20:00: Performance by Øyvind Novak Jenssen.

Saturday 2nd of November 17:00: The Underground Reading Group w/ Helle Lindskog*

*The Underground Reading Group is an attempt to bring together thoughts evolving from the world of science fiction and the craft of composting. Creatures both above and under the surface of the earth are welcome to share an excerpt from Ursula K. Le Guin’s feminist science fiction novel The Left Hand of Darkness from 1969. We will read the chosen text while having a dinner together. Welcome to Akademirommet on Saturday the 2nd of November, 17:00.

In an attempt to open up and expand this moment in the constant cycle of the seasons, the exhibition seeks to collectively deal with and look towards the shifting conditions around us. Can we create pockets of warmth when the darkness is moving closer and we retrieve to our nests?

Akademirommet is an arena for exhibitions and presentations located on the ground floor of Kunstnernes Hus with its entrance at the back of the building. This space has been run by the Oslo National Academy of the Arts since 2014. It is situated in a former professor studio and classroom that has been used by the Academy of Fine Art Oslo from the 1930s-90s.
