Metal

The metal workshops have equipment for traditional metalwork techniques. Students have access to goldsmithing workspaces, with an attendant metal shop for larger works, cutting and polishing. There is a forge and a welding workshop where students can fashion larger works and forge, cut, weld and carry out similar metalworking operations.

Metallverkstedet

The metal workshop affords students the opportunity to work in a range of formats, from small objects to larger constructions. We have equipment for cutting sheets, tubes and bolts and for welding, soldering, cutting, flattening, bending and shaping different metals. The workshop also includes lathes and metal cutters.

We have:

  • a forge for hot forging steel and a dedicated room with equipment for cold-working sheets;
  • equipment for making jewellery, enamelling, vacuum casting and minor sand casting, cutting and polishing;
  • equipment for surface treatment/ patination of metals such as silver, brass, copper, steel and bronze;
  • equipment for cutting sheets and rods, plastically shaping steel, welding, cutting and surface treatment.
