RECURRENCES I – a physical lecture by Brynjar Åbel Bandlien

RECURRENCES I – a physical lecture by Brynjar Åbel Bandlien

RECURRENCES er en fysisk og analytisk tilnærming til kunstneriske prosesser innen dans og koreografi.

RECURRENCES is a physical and analytical approach to artistic processes within the field of dance and choreography.

-When a creative process has become fully underway, certain situations, events, actions and movements can be recognized as emergent within the process. I call these recurrences. Rather than being created or produced these recurrences manifest or fall out of the dance practice, says Brynjar Åbel Bandlien about his performance.

In RECURRENCES he will physically present his ideas and show how he came to a direct awareness through some of the work he has been part of over the last ten years.

Brynjar Åbel Bandlien is a research fellow at Oslo National Academy of the Arts-dep Dance. The other participants are dancer and choreographer Rosa Moshtaghi and Kai Johnsen, Professor in theater at Oslo Academy of the Arts. The presentation will be in english.

Recurrences is supported by Norwegian Artistic Research Project, Oslo Academy of the Arts and Henie Onstad Art Centre.
