Ellen Skottun Klingenberg

Ellen S. Klingenberg is interior architect MNIL and architect MNAL. She is also a professor at Oslo National Academy of the Arts since 1999, where she runs studios on bachelor and master level, and she is a supervisor in the Norwegian Artistic Research Programme.

Ellen established her interior architect studio in Oslo in 1990. In the period 1982-1990 she was a partner of Arkitektene MNAL Fosse og Aasen AS in Oslo. From 2009 to 2012 she was a member of the editorial board of the Norwegian Review of Architecture (Arkitektur N), where she is still contributing with writing articles on interior architecture and furniture design. She is former President of Norwegian Interior Architects and Furniture Designers Association (NIL) and former board member of International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI).

As practicing interior architect, Ellen has designed a variety of public and private interiors. Holding a master degree in architectural conservation from Oslo School of Architecture and Design (AHO) since 2010, her major interest is reuse and transformation of existing and/or listed interiors.

Ellen has a considerable international network within the field of interior architecture education and has made several contributions to international conferences.
