EDUCATION:
O’Donnell is educated from Cardiff College of Art, Leeds College of Art and the Royal College of Art, London.

MAIN ARTISTIC INTERESTS AND RESEARCH AREAS:
Michael O’Donnell is an artist with more than fifty solo shows behind him. His work involves a range of materials: sculptural installation, text, photography and video. He deals with monuments, attitudes to spirituality and the commodity of death. His multifaceted visual approach is considered to be in line with Derrida’s theories of rhetoric in nonfiction theory.

He has wide experience of international projects including the Academy Without Walls in Zambia, the Centre for Contemporary Art in Kabul, Afghanistan and the International Art Academy in Ramallah, Palestine.

Public commissions: UMB, Ås; Oscarsborg festning, Drøbak; Kulturhuset Blå Grotte, Fredrikstad; Førde rådhus.
